§ 21. Penalty for ordinance violations.

Where, by provisions of this charter, or by general law, the council has authority to pass ordinances on any subject that may prescribe a penalty, such penalty for a violation thereof shall not exceed any provided for in general law for a like offense. Such penalties may be prosecuted and recovered with costs in the name of the City of Manassas. (Acts of 1996, ch. 248, § 1)
